Executive Artistic Director of the Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Ensemble, Cleo Parker Robinson, International Prodcuer and American Choreographer Sean McLeod, and Company Manager and Choreographer Winifred Harris were able to catch up during a tour to McLeod’s hometown. The Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Ensemble came to Auburn, NY hosted by Cayuga Community College and brought by CCC Student Activities Director, Norman Lee. It was a reunion of friends Sean McLeod, Winifred Harris, and Cleo, who had provided career opportunities and invitations to teach Master Classes and work with the company in Denver for McLeod the past 20 years. The Cayuga Community College hosted a Master Class with the African American Icon of dance Cleo Parker Robinson for college students and local dance students where she also graciously shared her light and introduced her friend Sean McLeod and the Company Manager and choreographer Winifred Harris.
Cleo additionally invited Sean to once again teach a McLeod Technique Master Class for her dance company because this group had not yet worked with McLeod, Cleo explained. The 3 day tour culminated in a special evening performance at Cayuga Community College Irene A. Bisgrove Community Theater allowing the community to see this iconic black company here in Central New York.
